CONFERENCE: SCIENTIFIC IMAGING

On the 6th of October 2022, the CMTC and its partners organise a one-day conference dedicated to scientific imaging in Grenoble.

Together with the Fed3G1, the LabEx CEMAM2 and the I-MEP23, the CMTC4 invites speakers from the university campus and beyond to expose the most up-to-date imaging techniques used in science and their applications to practical situations.

From the most high-tech techniques including ultra-fast cameras, holography, X-ray tomography, scanning electron microscopy, thermal imaging or even large instruments such as the synchrotron, to ingenious techniques using more simple equipment such as synchronised web cams, the speakers will browse a wide number of imaging solutions and put them into practical research contexts dealing with fluid mechanics, solid mechanics and material sciences.

In the second half of the day, visits and demonstrations will be organised in the partner laboratories to give the attendants the opportunity to have a practical contact with some of the techniques available on the university campus.

1 The Fédération Galileo Galilei Grenoble brings together the research community of mechanical and process engineering in Grenoble

2 CEMAM is the Centre of Excellence of Multifunctional Architectured Materials

3 The IMEP-2 is the doctoral school on Engineering, Materials, Mechanics, Environment, Energy, Processes and Production

4 The CMTC is the technological plaftorm for materials characterisation of Grenoble INP

Location and practical aspects

The conference will take place in the amphitheatre Jean Besson, 351 rue de la chimie on the university campus, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
